For the optimum treatment of your infertility problem, please read carefully the following information about organizational aspects. An appointment is necessary for nearly all examinations and treatment steps.

  Ultrasound

Ultrasound examinations for monitoring ovulation in natural cycles or for monitoring hormonal stimulation in IVF/ICSI treatment are carried out daily (including weekends) between 8 and 9 AM.
Appointments are required (please call 089-24 22 95-0).
We do our best to keep waiting times for ultrasound examinations short. This requires that each patient make an appointment as early as possible. Many of our patients have jobs and must come during working hours. Under these circumstances there is usually no time for long conversations. Your fellow patients will appreciate your consideration. We shall be happy to discuss details and answer further questions in a separate appointment.

  Urinalysis

Urine specimens are examined every day (including weekends) in order to determine the time of ovulation. The specimens must arrive in our practice by 9 AM on weekdays (tubes containing urine can be deposited in our mailbox), and by 8 AM on weekends and holidays. Inquiries about results may be made by telephone (089-24 22 95-0) Monday through Friday between 10:30 and 11:30 AM, and on weekends between 9:30 and 10:30 AM.

  Blood Tests
Blood tests are made during regular office hours without an appointment. By prior agreement, inquiries about results may be made by telephone (089-24 22 95-99) on weekdays from 1 PM to 2 PM, and on weekends (089-24 22 95-0) from 10 AM to 11 AM.
Blood samples are taken at the following times:

Monday 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Tuesday 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Wednesday 8:00 AM– 3:30 PM
Thursday 8:00 AM– 3:30 PM
Friday 8:00 AM– 1:30 PM
Saturday/Sunday 8:00 AM– 10:00 AM

  Spermiogram Analysis

Before treatment by insemination or IVF/ICSI, a recent (i.e., within the past 6 months) spermiogram is usually required. If you wish to have it done in our laboratories, please make an appointment with our andrology laboratory:
Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 12 noon, telephone 089-24 22 95-95.
If you wish to bring a semen sample from home, the transportation time must not exceed 45 to 60 minutes. In this case too, please make an appointment with the andrology laboratory, and ask for a transportation vessel at the reception desk.

  Important Information on IVF/ICSI Treatment
Please note that patients covered by German public insurance need a referral from their OB-GYN specialist that is valid for the current quarter

Before IVF/ICSI treatment can begin, the following documents and data are required:
  • Documentation of counseling by one's OB-GYN specialist in accordance with Paragraph 27 SGB (required only once, and only for patients covered by German public health insurance).
  • Rubella antibody test (proof of adequate immunity to German measles, from the female partner only).
  • Recent (i.e., no older than one year) tests for HIV and hepatitis B and C for both partners.
  • Treatment contract and declaration of informed consent (signed by both partners; must be made anew before each treatment!)
  • Insurance cards from both partners.
All necessary blood tests can be performed in our practice.

For special questions, our IVF secretaries can be reached Monday through Friday from 09 AM to 11 AM (Tel. 089-24 22 95-99). Questions about insurance and cost of treatment as well as billing can be answered by our billing secretary (Tel. 089-24 22 95-19).
